Pre-Production Vlog Script

Pre-Production

So my second vlog is on pre-production. When it comes to pre-production there are a different documents you need to have before making a short film. The first is a script.

A script is used for the different crew to know what they need to do such as the actors needing to know what to say also a camera operator will need to know what angles to set the camera. Additionally the prop department will need to know which scenes need props.

(Voice Over) The next piece of paper work is a script breakdown which breaks down the important parts the script and lists them in order to budget the production.

You will also need a cast that will in the production. In order to get permission actors and  actresses need to sign a release form which allows them to be used in films. You may also need permissions to use certain music all because tracks might be copyrighted.

A crew is also important because you will need people to help you with the production such as a director, producer, camera operate e.g. (Voice Over) Other documents you will need are

equipment lists
risk assessments
budget.

These documents look after the equipment you need, they are also used to keep a check of risks and how to avoid them. A budget is used to keep check of much you are paying for things such as equipment, catering and actors hours and wage. The document you need is a schedule which will keep check of when you plan to do things, where you are going to do them and how long you will be there.
